About K-Lucid

My passion lies in writing – a valid form of teaching. I believe we are all teachers and we are all learning. I hope my writing teaches people to be critical readers/makers of the media and the society in which we live. I am interested in a variety of issues such as psychology, sexuality, social justice and sustainability. I grew up in Adelaide and developed a passion for politics in high school. I began an arts degree in Hobart where I studied politics, journalism, psychology and women’s studies. Here I developed a keen interest in issues of equality. I then moved to Melbourne and completed an arts media degree and honours at RMIT. I completed subjects such as cinema studies, Australian cinema, Asian cinema, Authorship and narrative in the cinema, histories of film theory, the mass media in Australia, digital media, true lies: documentary studies, television production, television cultures, global culture and local identity, popular music and society, creative writing and literary journalism. For honours I investigated ‘immersion journalism,’ a form of journalism that doesn’t pretend the writer is absent, uneffected or unbiased in articles. I hope my life experiences and knowledge comes across in my writing. Why K-Lucid? I hope I am easily understood. I hope my views grow and change as I evolve and I hope you take this journey with me.
